Family Portraits at Christmas TIme – A great opportunity
In the week leading up to Christmas I had said to Sonny we would have a break and not do any photo shoots till New Years but a day or so before Christmas we were asked to travel to Esk the day after Boxing Day to do family portraits who have not come together like this for 20 years. How could we not say yes when we know the importance of documenting the lives of families. We agreed to meet up in the early morning so the kids were fresh and people had not started their travels back to their home towns. The night before was so windy and stormy I was relieved to see the weather had cleared by the morning and the rain had done a great job at washing everything down and made the plants and gardens look lively and fresh.
Heading out from Highfields to Esk is a beautiful 50 minute drive and I recommend taking the trip and stopping at the Hampton restaurant Emeraude if you have time. This time it was a little early to stop there so we had a very cheap breakfast at Esk Cafe and Restaurant. Very happy to say the least and they have an amazing playground for the kids. Anyway getting off track I know.
We had not met the client before however a previous client recommended us after her corporate profile shoot. We hit it off right from the start. The kids were fantastic and had such beautiful individual characters. I love getting down real low, not that it is hard for me as I am struggling to hit 5 foot 1. Even Jemma the 11 year old dog was in the act. As you can see we had a lot of fun not only taking the family portraits but also creating a little story with the intricate details which make up the family home. These are little things people remember when looking back.
I must say I think this collection would make a stunning album for each of the families to have in their homes.
Till next time…cheers from Kat
